A rhyme into my active prescription medication addiction, and the start of my recovery.

I Can’t stop screaming, sobbing the pain in my stomach is excruciating,
Eventually Im assigned a bed to be left in whaling, waiting,
Finally a nurse is dispatched,
Thank goodness back up to help me fight this Death match at least I’m praying,
Hush now sweetheart this will help, small scratch,
Well done aren’t you brave now the doctors prescribed this and that,
Mum, dad this will work fast to reduce the pain, she should be much more comfortable real soon as it was given through the vein,
I could feel the warmth rush through each artery and enter every vein,
And just like the nurse said it didn’t take long before you soon soothed the pain,
Hello sweet how are we doing? Oh much better I see Dr will be round shortly to see if we can get you feeling better swiftly,
See eventually I would become a medical mystery a sort of enigma,
They, nor I knew what was wrong with me,
And they wouldn’t give a diagnosis for another 9 years actually,
I was at the mercy of The Professionals Whatever they suggested I obliged wholeheartedly,
Wrongly or rightly, and then the horror began with the first investigative surgery,
That was our first introduction, we were both a lot smaller way back then,
On the children’s ward at the hospital where it was lights out by 10,
The nurse brought you round about 6 hourly and that feeling you gave me was larger than life,
It didn’t take long before you became at constant part of life,
For 17 years in fact give or take the odd short break,
Where the pain would return, ding ding round 2 another fight, another beating down I’d take
Eventually you would always worm your way back in again and again,
At first it would seem a blessing as you took the pain away my liquid jem,
But it wasn’t long before your poison started rotting me away physically thanks to your sweet sweet sugary consistency and then psychologically,
It was like making a deal with the devil to be pain free
I had to sell him/ you my identity actually you stole it right from underneath me,
Then soon you stopped soothing the pain at all, unless I took more and more and more and more,
I learnt this the hard way but I still couldn’t fight your lure,
It’s the nature of the beast the evil within you it creates an unquenchable thirst that’s never satisfied,
No matter how much you take it still cries begs for you to provide or withdrawals are the consequences supplied,
Inevitably the day came where I lost all control and we could no longer be trusted in this toxic partnership,
I could no longer take you responsibly,
So from that day forth I had to admit you’d won the war,
Asking for reinforcements I felt like a failure the shame the guilt and feeling emotionally much more,
I had to submit and truthfully admit I’ve become a prescription painkiller addict to oxycodien and narcotics,
But I’d probably take any narcotic available, thankfully I’ve not hit the streets yet,
But I no longer have control over the yearnings for you anymore,
If we’re being truthfully honest I’d take whatever I could get,
And now here I sit as tears fill my eyes trying not to quit on quitting,
To not let you! this liquid win and rule my life, Because the price to pay will be my life and I want to keep on living,
Actually I want to live without morphine dictating consuming my body my soul my very being and quite literally every corner of my mind,
This is no doubt the biggest fight I think I’ll ever face, and I feel like I’m going in blind,
I don’t know if I can do this but I’m willing to keep trying,
To find a way to be clean sober and a prescription free me!
Hi my name is Sarah and I’m an opioid, narcotic prescription medication addict,
Who’s currently fighting her active addiction, so please bare with me.

My neighbours poem The birth of our saviour Jesus Christ

This piece was actually written by my 84 year old neighbor when he was 14 and it was the posted in the school magazine, before he passed on his wish is for believers of Jesus Christ to read and enjoy the piece, he’s not up to date with technology so I’m posting on his behalf I thought it was a fantastic piece and I’m sure you’ll all agree.

The Three Wise Men came fourth
And presents they did give
They went back home alternate ways,
So that our Lord might live,
When Herod heard of this,
His court he dismissed,
Full of anger and in Vain,
He ordered all babies to be slain,
The lord said in a dream,
Harrod is not supreme,
So take the baby boy by night,
And flee to Egypt out of sight,
And thus it came to pass,
This day is our Christmas
This wonderful day of our lord,
Who’s worshippers wondered and adored,
So let us sing and praise,
These wonderful Christmas days,
When Jesus Christ was gifted to all men
Hallelujah thanks be to God Amen

New Poem- Butterflies

Check out my brand new piece titled Butterflies 🦋 it’s full of summer time goodness that mother nature supplies every year mainly the beautiful butterflies that fill the skies, their wings fluttering with unique colour schemes and patterns no one the same to see as they dance among the wild flowers and grass and in-between your feet.

Butterflies are a magical magnificent wonder of our world’s skies
In many ways they are not dissimilar to us coming in all different colours categories configurations and size.
Butterflies can’t see their own wings they never know their outer beauty or no how truly beautiful they are
But everyone else can see them and can admire their breathtaking beauty a comparison not too far
To our human nature
Such a delicacy and in the same instance there fluttering features so delicate
Fragile to the core yet they dance with such fierce verocity truly supereminent,
No fear as they dart from side to side busy fulfilling their fluttering butterfly duties,
Such pure souls can’t stay here for too long 15 to 29 days for these beauties,
Is this why they flutter by so quickly gliding with urgency through the skies
Because there is so much to do and such little time to do it before their demise.
I wonder if they contemplate their destined fate
Not taking a single second for granted keeping them constantly fluttering by their due date.
Sounds splendid not knowing how disgustingly dazzling you truly are,
Not having that self conscious hang up based on appearance would be bizarre
You simply exist with heavenly peace, mental tranquility sounds like beautiful bliss.
Spending days fluttering amongst floral incenses the aroma a sweet treat
Birds soar high above bouncing from branch to branch of the tall trees as they tweet
Nature’s colour palette is so bright from the dainty petals of the wandering wildflowers
As I dash from flower to flower full of pure joyful glee fluttering tumbling swooping and soaring
I could dance for hours with other insects like a buzzy bumbling bee
I’m a beautiful butterfly you see, now you can see me in all my beauty and glory,
And it doesn’t really bother me I’m content not seeing my wings they are there so I can fly mainly
So I’m as content as can be, just being a beautiful butterfly fluttering away as I pass thee.

Part 2 To my previous poem The Wonders of the world, Part 2 The Spring time dance

The wonders of the world
By Sarah Cope
It is a piece of poetry depicting the nature that arrives in the UK during spring time. Part 2 The Spring time Dance is the arrival of the joyful accents of spring and the things we in the UK associate with the seasons arrival.

The wonders of the world, part 1
The clouds barrel into the pools of blue,
Crashing into golden sunlight streaks piercing through the sky,
A canvas of colour full of shades you cannot clarify,
As it floats by just above the likes of you and I, Perched on a grand oak tree the birds soulfully sing,
Chirping a conversation, to us its a tweeting tune and the flapping of a wing,
The squirrels soon notice me,
As they scurry away up the Acorn tree,
Watching and waiting from a bountiful beautiful branch,
Until it’s safe to come thundering down the tree trunk,
To continue filling up their cheeks and arms, The bunnies bashful and shy bolt for the bushes in the blink of an eye,
Unlike the bold butterflies that flutter brazenly through the skies, Despite being delicate delights,
Full of vivid colours brightening up the sky, Just like fire flies burning bright in the nights eye, The Lakes shimmer glistening in the rays of sunlight,
With a solid stillness that’s glass like,
Until a single ripples ride causes the surface and dark depths to collide, We will never behold the secrets the dark depths haven’t told,
Up above the geese are gathering getting ready for a good gaggling or perhaps they’re giggling, One things for sure they are certainly chitter chattering,
The swans slide in silence paired with pure panache,
They are the Royalty of the water praised, poised and posh,
Ruling with regality and gracility and conduct, Often looking down their elegant elongated necks, At the peasant quarrelsome quacking ducks,
With utter distaste and disgust,
Flashes of yellow from Spring daffs sway away, Dancing in the Whispers of the winds,
A beautiful array,
Petals from the Violets and bluebells amongst the lavender fields, Enhance what the emblazon earth’s birthed, The bees buzz in between the Floral display,
The nectar is their nicotine a bouquet buffet,
What wonders our world has to behold from for us to nurture,
The Creator blessed us not only with nature,
But every Acre each creature from the Grand Canyon a magnificent crater,
To the Icelandics glistening glacier, Everything is a fantastic feature,
We are blessed, to walk amongst the wonders of this world.

The spring time dance part 2

The winter solstice has passed, so the spring dance can begin at last,
and everyone is invited, from every tree as far as the eye can see.
To each and every flourishing flower, the buzzing bees and singing birdies.
Over the coming months everyone’s waking up, deep sleeps are a thing of the past
the green grass dancefloor has finally opened at long last.
The fairies have bloomed into their golden princess dresses,
They’ve finally become daring dancing dandelions and ladies tresses.
Greeted by the Dante daisies and the tulips as they tap dance and prance,
They are the first guests of many who will be attending the spring dance.
To twirl, swirl, glide, slide to sway the spring away at the infamous green grass dancefloor.
The butterflies flutter, dancing among the swaying dewdrops a sight to adore.
It’s summertime delight the sun is a disco ball in the sky,
it’s ray’s the stages spotlight complementing the sparkle of the firefly.
The VIPS of the night are ready to sprout up stars of the springtime dance.
They only make an appearance but once a year, to attend the dance
The daffodil delicately and dutifully arrives, just ahead of the spring dancer’s highlights.
Then the sunflower the true king of spring stalks tall with heads big bold and bright,
basking in the sun’s spotlight, they tower above all, beautifully they are simply the best,
greeting all the guests as they wake from there slumbering rest.
It’s time to let the annual springtime dance commence.
The colours are so vivid; the sounds so sweet; the aroma a fragrant floral incense
In which nothing else can compete.
On the lush green grass dancefloor wildflowers of all types, and kind begin to thrive.
The ants aim for the surface to watch the grasshopper’s lively jive.
The Beatles brazen colours shimmer green and blue, the springs strobe lights.
The swans simply glide on the lake alongside, playing eye spy through the towering, tall reeds.
Buttercups sporadically spread breaking up the greens.
Herons hiding in wait to see the glistening of scales,
he hopes and he’s praying his catch never fails.
Fish flip creating mesmerising whirlpools on the water’s surface.
Frogs, newts, and tadpoles are too nervous, so they attend just under the surface.
Ducks sound like there having a quack attack as they simply chitter chat.
Who knows the topic of the gossip, probably a bit of this and that,
Their dance is more of a glide, to allow for chitter chatter, so up down around and back
they slide, and on occasion they duck their heads down to dive.
Their arch nemesis the geese, glare as they arrive occasionally exchanging a honk or a hiss.
But if ducks dare to come to near then it’ll be a nip certainly not a kiss.
Blue bells blush upon the green grass dancefloor, as the clouds disperse and the blue skies open up, for the sun to shine once more
Blackbirds sing high up in the trees their feathers dancing in the breeze.
The spring dance truly shows the beauty of nature’s world
How lucky we are to enjoy the wonders of this dreamy world

New Poem- Oh my little magpie

Oh dear, oh my,
You poor little magpie,
1 for sorrow is what is said,
And here you sit solo twitching your head,
For where is your sweetheart
Shouldn’t you be together not apart
As the rhyme suggests
2 for joy is what comes next
Oh my, oh yes
A pair of magpies
that’s whats best
Sitting together twitching your heads
Until 3 for a girl and 4 for a boy pop out their eggs,
In which case you’ll need to build yourselves a pretty big nest.

Let’s hope the remainder of the rhyme rings true
And your family will be blessed too
With precious metals that you’ll find and fetch
5 for silver 6 for gold or so it’s said to allege
the glistening so mesmerising so hypnotising
You must have it, To stash in your collection that’s ever rising
Safely hidden in a location Mr magpie will not be disclosing or advertising.
Because 7 Is the secret he plans to continue hiding
